What Are the Different Benefits of Liposuction vs. Coolsculpting?

Both liposuction and CoolSculpting are popular treatments in our Reno office, and each has advantages and disadvantages. The primary difference between the two is that liposuction is a surgical technique and CoolSculpting is non-surgical. This means that liposuction removes fat using a surgical technique. This requires anesthesia and incisions, as well as some downtime to recover. CoolSculpting, one of the leading non-surgical fat-reduction treatments available today, eliminates fat by instigating a natural process. CoolSculpting sessions target a localized area of fat with freezing temperature. This destroys a percentage of the targeted fat cells, which leads the body to pick them up in the lymph and eliminate the cellular debris. Liposuction and CoolSculpting both permanently eliminate fat cells. Liposuction can be more comprehensive in that it can address larger areas in a single session. CoolSculpting is limited to the area of fat that can be held within the device applicator. There is no downtime after CoolSculpting, as there is with liposuction, but it can take up to three months to fully appreciate your new contours. We're happy to talk with you more about the benefits and drawbacks of each of these treatments so you can make the most educated and confident decision about how to reach your body contouring goals.
